Uncompromised Peer-to-Peer Communication
PhoneJack is a free, open-source-friendly web app for truly private voice calls, chat, and file sharing. No accounts, no signups, no tracking.
Your data never touches our servers — it travels directly between you and your contact.
Key Features
True Peer-to-Peer (WebRTC)
- Voice calls, instant chat, and file sharing go directly between browsers.
- End-to-end encrypted by default (governed by the WebRTC standard implemented by your browser).
- New: Fully serverless "Manual Handshake" mode — exchange connection data manually (no signaling server needed).
- Strict UI-Only Role: PhoneJack merely provides a user interface for capabilities already built into your web browser.
Strong Privacy & Anonymity
- No accounts, no emails, no phone numbers.
- Ephemeral Peer IDs — valid only for the current session.
- No logs of conversations, files, or metadata beyond minimal connection setup.
- Strict Content Security Policy — blocks trackers and third-party scripts.
- Session Fingerprint verification so you can confirm you're talking to the right person.
Practical & Powerful
- Reliable file transfer (up to ~100 MB) with progress and resume-like behavior.
- Real-time chat with anti-spam measures.
- High-quality voice calls with echo cancellation and noise suppression.
- Easy link sharing + QR codes.
- Works as a single HTML file — you can even run it completely offline after download.
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: January 1, 2026
PhoneJack is designed with one core principle: we do not want your data, and we do not have the technical means to access it.
1. Zero-Knowledge Infrastructure
We collect nothing that identifies you or contains your communication content. No IP logging on our side for communication data, no analytics, no cookies for tracking. PhoneJack acts strictly as a static interface that instructs your local web browser to initiate a connection.
2. How Connections Work (Third-Party Technologies)
- WebRTC: All audio, video, and file data is processed, encrypted, and transmitted directly by your browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Safari) using the WebRTC protocol. We do not control this protocol.
- Standard Mode: Uses a public PeerJS signaling server (
0.peerjs.com) only to help browsers discover each other (ICE candidates / SDP). Once connected, data flows directly P2P. We do not own or operate this public server. - Manual Handshake (Serverless) Mode: You and your contact exchange connection data directly (e.g. via another channel). No third-party signaling server is involved at all.
- STUN Servers: Public STUN servers (e.g., provided by Google or Cloudflare) are used by your browser to discover public IPs/ports for NAT traversal. They see no communication content.
3. Browser Telemetry & Liability
While PhoneJack tracks nothing, your browser vendor (e.g., Google, Apple, Mozilla) may collect telemetry, metrics, or diagnostic data regarding your use of their WebRTC API, depending on your browser settings. We have no control over the privacy practices of the developers who created your browser.
4. What the Other Peer Sees
Because this is true peer-to-peer, your public IP address will be visible to the person you connect with (and to STUN/TURN servers). This is unavoidable for direct P2P connections. Only connect with people you trust.
5. Local Storage & Session Data
All session data is held in your device's memory and cleared when you close the tab or end the session.
Terms of Service
Effective Date: January 1, 2026
PhoneJack is provided free of charge on an "AS IS" basis as a static software tool. Use it responsibly.
1. Delegation of Technology Liability
PhoneJack is not a communication service provider; it is a front-end User Interface (UI) wrapper. We do not provide, host, or control the communication protocols, codecs, encryption algorithms, or data channels used during your session. All of these functions are executed natively by your web browser hardware and software. Consequently, any liability regarding the security, encryption strength, transmission failure, or data leakage rests entirely with the creators of your web browser and the maintainers of the WebRTC standard.
2. Content Neutrality and Censorship
Because PhoneJack does not host, relay, or process the data traveling between peers, we have absolutely no technical capacity to monitor, moderate, filter, or censor content. PhoneJack cannot "ban" users or "block" communications. If you are seeking censorship, content restrictions, wiretapping compliance, or moderation, you must direct your inquiries to the developers of the web browser being used (e.g., Google, Apple, Mozilla, Microsoft, Brave), as they are the entities that built and control the underlying transmission engines enabling this functionality.
3. Prohibited Uses
While we cannot technically enforce restrictions on a true peer-to-peer connection, you agree not to use the PhoneJack interface for:
- Illegal activities under your local jurisdiction
- Harassment, threats, or abuse
- Distribution of malware
- Attempting to disrupt the service, third-party signaling servers, or other users
4. Limitation of Liability
Under no circumstances shall PhoneJack, its creators, or its contributors be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, this interface. This includes, but is not limited to, damages caused by browser bugs, WebRTC vulnerabilities, network interruptions, actions of the other peer, or policies enforced by your Internet Service Provider or browser vendor.
5. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States.
